Irvine Valley's men's soccer team dropped its thirds straight match on Tuesday, falling at Santiago Canyon, 4-2, in an Orange Empire Conference contest.
The Lasers out-shot the Hawks, 19-8, in the match, but just capitalize on their opportunities to score.
Santiago Canyon took a 2-0 lead before IVC scored on a goal by sophomore Alex Cannas in the 65th minute.
The Lasers tied the game at 2-2 in the 77th minute on a goal by sophomore Alan Banda – his first of the year.
But Santiago Canyon closed out the game with goals in the 88th and 90th minutes for the victory.
Freshman Jonathan Romero and Daniel Totays each had an assist in the game for the Lasers.
Freshman Wilbur Olivera played the first 60 minutes in goal and freshman Robert DeVone was in goal for the final 30 minutes. Each IVC keeper made two saves.
Irvine Valley's record dropped to 6-10-2 overall and 3-8-0 in conference.
The Lasers host conference-leading Golden West on Friday. The Rustlers beat Orange Coast, 2-1, on Tuesday to improve to 10-0-1 in conference.
GWC has given up just three goals in conference and has eight shutouts. It has out-scored opponents in conference, 24-3.
