Women's volleyball team swept at Golden West

The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team had its two-match win streak snapped with a straight-set loss at Golden West on Wednesday night.

Irvine Valley lost the Orange Empire Conference match, 25-19, 25-19, 26-24.

Irvine Valley's record slipped to 10-4 overall and 4-4 in conference.

The Lasers hit just .080 for the night. Sophomore outside hitter Avae Masaniai was a bright spot, finishing with 12 kills and six digs. She hit .296 for the night.

Sophomore outside hitter Allison Cook added eight kills and five digs, freshman libero Becky Moodie had 18 digs, sophomore defensive specialist Alex Goodman had six digs and freshman middle blocker Haley Whyte contributed four blocks.

Freshman setter Danielle Boyette ended with 22 assists and 13 digs.

Irvine Valley plays again on Friday, hosting Santa Ana in a conference match at 6 p.m. IVC swept Santa Ana the first time the two teams played.​
