Former Irvine Valley men's soccer player Julio Trejo is standing out down the road at Concordia.
Trejo, who plays goalie, was selected as the Golden State Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the week for the Eagles.
It was his second straight week that he captured the award. Concordia defeated Cal State San Marcos last week and Trejo earned the shutout.
Trejo notched his second individual shutout of the season against Cal State San Marcos.
He had three saves in the game. The junior goalie is ranked 11th in the nation and leads the GSAC with a .54 goals against average.
And he has only allowed three goals all season after 502 minutes in goal.
Trejo played at Irvine Valley during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. He played in nine matches in 2009 and had a 2.55 goals against average with 29 saves.
