Men's golf team comes up short at Green River

Freshman Jeff Koch follow up last week's score of 76 with a 77 to post the only score in the 70's for Irvine Valley men's golf team at the Green River Golf course last Wednesday in an Orange Empire Conference team tournament match.

It was a home match for the Lasers.

Irvine Valley finished eighth out of eight teams with a 414-team score total.

Orange Coast won with a score of 373, Palomar was second at 376 and Cypress was third at 379.

Koch's round consisted of three birdies, eight pars, six bogeys and one double bogey.

Sophomore Crockett Stearns and freshman Max Hunter each posted scores of 82. 

Freshman Chris Flojo scored 76 and freshman Steven Meyer scored 87. 

Freshman Eric Kuniawan, playing in his first conference match, scored the throw-out score, of 104.

IVC now prepares for the conference finals.  

The 36-hole, one-day competition, will determine the three teams and 18 individuals that will advance to the Southern California Regionals.​
