For the second straight contest, IVC earned a tie.

The Lasers traveled to Santa Ana on Tuesday and tied the Dons, 0-0, in an Orange Empire Conference match.

Irvine Valley improved its record to 2-10-3 overall and 1-8-2 in conference. Santa Ana snapped a three-game losing streak, but didn't score for its fourth straight contest.

The Dons' record moved to 5-10-1 overall and 4-6-1 in conference. Both teams had one strong scoring chance late in the game with the first one belonging to the Lasers when sophomore forward Kathryn Moyneur fired a shot off the crossbar in the 66th minute.

The Dons best opportunity came in the 86th minute but Maria Ayala's shot also hit off the crossbar. Stephanie Hernandez turned away both shots she faced for the Dons while IVC freshman goalie Amanda Rashtian made seven saves for the Lasers.

Irvine Valley plays again on Friday at Orange Coast at 3 p.m. It will be Irvine Valley's sixth straight match on the road. The Lasers are home again next Tuesday against Cypress at 3 p.m.
