Senior center fielder and former Irvine Valley standout Matt Ivanoff accounted for every run in the Concordia baseball team's 7-5 elimination bracket victory over Oklahoma Baptist at the 2011 Avista-NAIA World Series on Monday in Lewiston, Idaho.
The Eagles won their opening game in the World Series on Friday and then lost to Florida's Embry-Riddle on Saturday.
Ivanoff went 4 for 4 with four RBI and three runs scored and he was just as good on defense, making a diving play to rob Oklahoma Baptist of a gapper that looked destined to lead to a pair of runs in the fifth and doubling off a runner on second base to kill a seventh-inning rally.
Ivanoff's outstanding all-around day led to a Concordia win, as the Eagles stayed alive in the double-elimination tournament.
Concordia was scheduled to play Lubbock Christian on Tuesday in another elimination game
