Defender Francisco Hernandez commits to Bethesda Christian

Francisco HernandezIrvine Valley men's soccer player Francisco Hernandez has committed to play at Bethesda Christian University in Anaheim next season.

Bethesda is part of the National Christian College Athletic Association and plays the likes of Soka University in Aliso Viejo.

Hernandez was a two-year starter for the Lasers as a stopper on defense. He was named second-team all-Orange Empire Conference this past season as the Lasers finished with a record of 15-5-2 overall, placed second in conference and reached the second round of the playoffs.

Hernandez recorded six goals and two assists on the season, including two goals in a non-conference victory over Glendale and the game-winner in a 3-2 conference win over Golden West.

Hernandez, who came to IVC from Sara Robert School in Mexico, recorded two goals and three assists during his freshman season in 2009.
