Irvine Valley women's volleyball coach Tom Pestolesi announced that four standout players will be joining the Lasers for the fall 2011 season.

They are outside hitter Allie Cook, middle blocker/outside hitter/defensive specialist Alex Goodman and outside hitter/opposite Avae` Masaniai from Edison High in Huntington Beach and outside hitter/defensive specialist Lauren Bender from Ayala High in Chino Hills.

"Allie is a very good player and will help us immediately, Alex is solid and will provide depth in every position and Avae` is very explosive and will provide a lot of offense for the Lasers," Pestolesi said. "Lauren is another good player that will give us a lot of depth. It is an exciting group of incoming freshman to compliment an excellent group of returners."

Irvine Valley finished with a record of 13-6 overall last season and made the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

Top returning players include all-conference libero Sarah Mendoza, outside hitter Carleigh Mueller and middle blocker Hannah Unruh.
