Friday's home game against Riverside to be broadcast

The Irvine Valley baseball team 's Orange Empire Conference game on Friday at home against Riverside will be broadcast live by Game time is 2 p.m. The game is the final one in the three-game series between the two schools. Riverside has won the first two contests, including beating Irvine Valley, 11-3, on Thursday at Riverside. The Tigers took a 4-0 lead after the first two innings and never looked back. IVC scored one run in the top of the third and added two more in the top of the sixth to make it a 6-3 game. IVC had a chance for more in the sixth, but left the bases loaded. Riverside then came back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the game away. IVC sophomore Daniel Levine took the loss on the mound. He gave up six runs on nine hits and a walk in 4 1/3 innings. Levine finished with five strikeouts. His record fell to 3-2 on the year. Freshman first baseman Buddy Johns was 2 for 4 with one RBI and sophomore catcher Anthony Almeida went 1 for 3 with two RBI for the Lasers, who saw their record fall to 13-12 overall and 4-8 in conference. Riverside improved to 15-10 overall and 8-4 in conference. Kyle McNutt got the win on the mound for Riverside - his first of the season. He went 5.0 innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on two hits and four walks with two strikeouts. Billy Nottingham was 2 for 2 with three RBI, Grady Espinosa went 3 for 4 with two RBI, Curtis Cassisse went 3 for 4 with one RBI and Vince Ponce was 2 for 5 with two RBI for Riverside. The Tigers out-hit the Lasers, 15-6, in the game.          Box Score
