With its key win at Saddleback last Friday night and 5-0 record in Orange Empire Conference play, the Irvine Valley men's basketball team moved up from No. 10 to No. 2 in the state rankings.

It ties the highest IVC has ever been ranked in the poll. IVC was previously ranked No. 2 during the 2007-08 and 2009-10 seasons. Irvine Valley is also now ranked No. 1 in the South Region.

IVC has won six straight games overall and is now 16-1 since starting the year with a 2-2 record.
The top 10 in the South Region in order are Irvine Valley, Mt. SAC, Citrus, Saddleback, San Bernardino Valley, Southwestern, Barstow, Mt. San Jacinto, Antelope Valley and Chaffey. IVC plays again Wednesday night at Cypress at 7:30 p.m.
