The Irvine Valley men's basketball team won its second straight tournament.
It beat Chaffey, 65-51, in the final of the Roadrunner Roundup at Rio Hondo in Whittier on Friday night.
Sophomore forward Travis Fulton was named MVP. He led the Lasers with 27 points, 12 rebounds and three assists in the title game.
Fulton averaged 22 points over IVC's three wins in the tournament.
Sophomore guard Christian Mack, who was a standout on defense in the event, was also named to the all-tournament team.
Also in the title game, freshman guard Kalob Hatcher had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists and sophomore Joe Eberhard added 11 points and nine rebounds.
Irvine Valley opened the tournament by defeating Glendale, 70-67, behind 20 points from Fulton and 16 points from Eberhard.
It then defeated Pasadena, 69-49, to reach the title game. Fulton had 19 points and seven rebounds and freshman guard Ramon Mejia finished with 11 points and six rebounds in the victory over Pasadena.
With the three wins, Irvine Valley has now won eight games in a row. IVC plays again on Thursday, facing Long Beach City in the Bill Brummel Classic at Saddleback at 1 p.m.
Long Beach City handed IVC one of its two losses earlier this season.
